FAQ
Why is my kitchen countertop sticky after applying Worktop Oil?
This often happens because the countertop wasn't cleaned with Intensive Wood Cleaner before oiling. Intensive Wood Cleaner provides a deep clean, allowing the oil to penetrate the wood better. It could also be because the countertop wasn't polished after oiling and the excess oil wasn't removed. For best results, follow our oiling instructions.
How can I fix this problem?
Apply a thin layer of Worktop Oil to the sticky surface and let it sit for no more than 5-10 minutes. Then, buff thoroughly (preferably with a hand polisher) and remove excess oil with a soft, clean cotton cloth.
Can I use regular cleaning products on my wood surface?
We recommend using our specially developed surface cleaning soaps, as they clean effectively while protecting and preserving them. Regular cleaning products are not designed to work with soap or oil-based treatments on your wood surface.
Why should I use Intensive Wood Cleaner regardless of the treatment I choose?

How should I remove excess oil?
You should continue rubbing the oil into the wood until the surface can no longer absorb it. Any excess oil remaining on the surface should be removed with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth.
Remember that oil-soaked rags can spontaneously ignite. Therefore, the rag should be placed in a plastic bag, which should be tied with a knot before being disposed of in the trash.
Do I need to sand the floor before treatment?
For new base treatments, the surface must be sanded and cleaned before applying soap, oil, or varnish. If the existing surface simply needs a refresh, you can simply clean it thoroughly with Intensive Wood Cleaner. Remember to check if there is still enough surface to sand before applying a new base treatment. Otherwise, you may need to invest in a new floor.
How often should I maintain my floors?
When is the best time to treat my wooden deck?
Wooden deck treatments should be applied in dry weather, avoiding direct sunlight and intense heat. Optimal temperatures are between 15 and 25°C, with a relative humidity of approximately 50%.
What outdoor temperature and humidity are recommended for oiling wooden surfaces outdoors?
The optimal temperature for application is between +15 and 25°C, with a humidity of approximately 50%.
Is it advisable to measure the wood moisture before application?
It can be a good idea to measure the wood's moisture content. It should be no more than 15%. Many hardware stores offer moisture meters in their product line, and they can be purchased relatively cheaply. Wood that has been exposed to prolonged periods of rain will contain a lot of moisture and, therefore, should be allowed to dry properly.
How does Natural Soap protect my floor?
Can outdoor products be used indoors?
No, we strongly advise against doing so, as outdoor products contain stronger preservatives, which can be harmful to the indoor climate and to people.
What temperature and humidity should be maintained for interior surface treatment?
This depends on the product and the type of treatment. Different recommendations are indicated on each individual product.
Why do intermediate sanding before the final coat of paint?
When painting a wooden surface with a water-based paint, the wood fibers rise, creating a rough surface. This roughness caused by the raised fibers can be removed by sanding the surface before applying the final coat of paint. This ensures the surface becomes smooth and pleasant to the touch.
Can your Tannin Spot Remover be used on all types of wood?
Yes, you can use it, but always keep in mind that it will also remove some of the original protection, so you should re-treat the wood after using the Tannin Spot Remover.
How long does it take for your products to dry?
Drying times vary depending on the product used. The different drying and hardening times are indicated on each individual product.
What is the difference between Tannin Spot Remover and Wood Stain Remover?
Tannin Spot Remover is used to remove dark rings/stains caused by water, etc. These black rings/stains most commonly occur on oak, as it contains large amounts of tannic acid, which can be extracted from the wood. However, the product can also be used on other types of wood. Our regular stain remover is designed for stains such as red wine, coffee, and grease. The common feature of both products is that the wood must be re-treated with the original oil or soap after use.
Why should I use Master Care?
Master Care extends the life of your floor and paint, protecting against wear and scratches, making the floor more durable.
