Exterior Wood Oil

Exterior Wood Oil is designed for previously oiled and unoiled outdoor wooden surfaces—e.g., floors, furniture, fences, etc. The special water-based composition of oils makes this oil water-soluble and environmentally friendly. The oil enhances the natural color and texture of the wood.

Areas of application

Exterior Wood Oil is designed for previously oiled exterior wooden surfaces – e.g., floors, furniture, fences, etc. Exterior Wood Oil can be used on traditional woods, e.g., pine and larch, as well as exotic woods, e.g., teak, mahogany, ipé.

Preparation

Before starting treatment, clean new and existing surfaces with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner. Let the wood dry for at least 24 hours, so that the humidity is no higher than 17%. If the surface is rough, sand with 120-grit sandpaper. Apply only in dry conditions, minimum temperatures 13°C. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures. Always remember to test a small area to verify the surface's adhesion and compatibility with the product.

Treatment

Shake well before use. Apply a thin, even coat with the brush. Follow the grain of the wood. Wet oil may have a white tinge that disappears within a few minutes as the water evaporates. Remove excess oil with a cotton cloth within 5 minutes. Pay particular attention to joints and bevels. If the surface does not appear saturated, repeat the steps. Once the wood is dry, it can be polished with a cloth or by machine to make the surface even more durable.

Note

Non-impregnated softwoods (except red cedar) and larch should be pre-treated with WOCA Exterior Wood Primer. Caution (for furniture): After applying Exterior Wood Oil in black, anthracite, and walnut, we recommend finishing with a coat of Exterior Wood Oil Natural to prevent color transfer.

Drying time

Full hardening: The oil dries completely after 24-48 hours, depending on weather and temperature conditions. During this time, the wood should not be exposed to water.

Yield : 8-12 m^2 per litre, depending on the wood and structure.

Cleaning tools : use water.

Storage : Keep out of reach of children. Do not expose to heat (e.g., sunlight). Store away from frost.

VOC : This product contains a maximum of 20 g VOC/L. The limit is 130 g VOC/L (cat. A/f).

Formats : 0.75 L and 2.5 L

Re-treatment : Repeat the treatment when necessary. Start by cleaning the surface with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner.
