Invisible Oil Primer

Invisible Oil Primer is a water-based wood primer with excellent adhesion that gives wood a matte, untreated appearance when used in combination with WOCA Invisible Oil. Invisible Oil Primer is the first step in a high-quality water-based oiling system and should therefore be used in combination with WOCA Invisible Oil. The Invisible system was developed for use on light-colored woods that require a good oiling quality and a freshly sanded, untreated appearance. The range gives floors a soft, comfortable surface to walk on.

Areas of application

For preparing untreated, new, or freshly sanded wood surfaces made of light-colored wood species. After preparation, treat with Invisible Oil and Invisible Oil Treatment.

Preparation

It's important that both the wood and the paint are at least 15°C (preferably around 20°C) and that the humidity is around 50%. Make sure the room is well ventilated to allow for optimal evaporation and drying times. The wood must be freshly sanded, using 100-150 grit for the final sanding. Vacuum thoroughly. Wash the floor with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner and let it dry for at least 8 hours before applying the primer. Always remember to test on a less visible area to verify the product's compatibility with the surface.

Final sanding

Grain 100-150.

Treatment

Shake the primer container well both before and during use. Mix containers with different batch numbers to avoid color differences. Apply an even coat of primer using a short-haired paint roller. Work on small areas no larger than 20 m2 at a time. Allow the primer to penetrate for up to 5 minutes. Rub the primer into the wood until the floor looks saturated. Use a polisher with a beige or burgundy pad. Change the polishing pad regularly to avoid primer buildup. Remove excess primer with lint-free cotton cloths or pads applied to the polisher until the surface no longer looks wet. Allow the floor to dry for 3-4 hours. Between coats, sand the surface using a burgundy pad or a paint polishing pad and vacuum thoroughly. Apply WOCA Invisible Oil. Carefully follow the product instructions.

Note

After 24 hours, we recommend treating the surface with Invisible Oil Care to improve the floor's resistance to stains and wear.

Drying time

Drying time: before treatment with Invisibile Oil: approximately 3-4 hours at 20°C

Full hardening: 7 days at 20°C

Recommendation: Do not expose the floor to water for the first 7 days while the oil is hardening.

Storage : 10-25°C. Store with care. Keep out of reach of children. Do not expose to heat (e.g., sunlight). Store away from frost.

VOC : This product contains a maximum of 10 g VOC/L. The permitted value is 500 g VOC/L (cat.A/i).
